The brief
What the owners asked for
Three bathrooms in the house, one tub in the children's bath, and a guest tub that had not held water since the owners moved in.
Because the home keeps a tub elsewhere, a conversion was the obvious call. The joists ran the right way, so curbless was achievable without raising the floor.
The wall treatment does the work: a fluted limestone panel behind the fittings, honed field stone everywhere else, and one brushed nickel handheld on a slide bar.

The scope
What we actually did
- Cut out and removed a cast iron alcove tub in sections
- Sistered joists and built a curbless single-fall pan with a linear drain
- Bonded sheet membrane with banded corners and a 24 hour flood test
- Fluted limestone feature panel with mitred external corners
- Thermostatic valve with overhead and handheld on a slide bar
- Waterproofed bench at seated shaving height
They found a wet joist under the old tub on day two and had it priced and fixed before the end of the week.
